Dinner and a Movie

Last Saturday we decided to go to the Kaysville Theater and watch FROZEN. The kids had seen it already, Grandma Carroll had taken them over Christmas break, but they were dying to watch it again so we decided to go for it. We love the Kaysville Theater for a couple of reasons. The tickets are $3, woot woot!! It's family owned, snacks are very reasonable and it's just a fun place. We can all go to a movie and get all the snacks, popcorn and drinks we can eat and still only spend a fraction of what it costs anywhere else.

We tried for the 4:30 show, got there at 4, and realized it was already sold out. Bummer. We totally should have known. Really bad judgement on our part. The kiddos were devastated. It was a sad and teary trip back to the van. So we decided we would make the 7:30 show for sure. To pass the time, we thought we would try Gabor Bros Pizza for the first time. Uhm.....YUM!!! It was super yummy and a fun atmosphere.

The kids were completely fascinated with this old school telephone booth. I feel old.
Jackson was loving the Parmesan cheese and using a liberal amount on each bite.  It made Markham and I giggle.
Addie wanted more bread stick and she wanted it right then.
After we all ate too much and were stuffed, we headed to the library for a little while. There is something so great about the library. I just love books. Real books with hard covers. I love the smell, I love the peace and quiet.  I love to see my kiddos sitting on the floor with a pile of books. I love the old world feel in this electronic world.

We headed back to the theater to get in line for tickets at 6. We were not going to miss the 7:30 show! We were the first in line and had no problem getting our snacks and getting the perfect seats. Addie drank so much soda that her diaper just couldn't hold anymore. I suddenly felt very warm and realized her pants were drenched and my lap was drenched. Awesome.  After a quick change she was ok and I dried pretty quickly.

The kiddos all fell asleep within minutes of being back in the van on our way home. We totally wore them out. Good times.

Cousins, Beaver Mt. and the Aggies

We had a fun weekend in Logan.

The guys went snowboarding Saturday morning, while Lindsey and I stayed home with the kiddos. It was kind of a Valentines gift for the guys. Markham got new snowboard pants for Christmas that I wanted him to use at least once this year.
On the way back, the guys picked up take-out from the Bluebird. It would've been fun to eat out but the babies were napping and no one wanted to wake them. It was YUM!! Bluebird chicken is our favorite and it had been way way too long.

That night, we headed to the USU vs. Weber Hockey Game. It was great. Just like old times, except we had 3 kiddos, lol. The Aggies didn't disappoint and won the game. It did my heart good to hear Kaity and Jackson yell, "Go Aggies!!"
Good times.

First Tooth

Little Kaity Pie finally was able to use this adorable pillow her Aunt Jen gave her. Her first tooth fell out on Thursday at dance class. It had been loose for a couple of weeks. She did not want to pull it out, so it got very very loose. While having a break in class, she was eating a fruit leather and at some point discovered she was bleeding and realized her tooth was gone.

Markham picked her up from dance on his way home from work. She came into the kitchen and gave me a cute little smile. "You lost your tooth!" I said. She immediately burst into tears and said,  "but I lost it." I almost started to cry too. She had been so excited. It was so sad. I sat with her on the kitchen floor and held her while she sobbed. "It was my first tooth, I wanted to see what it looked like." She was devastated.

Markham helped her search all over the studio before leaving but they couldn't find it. I offered to take her back and look some more. She decided it was a worth a try.

We looked and looked- but that little tooth was not there. I convinced her she must have swallowed it, and we drove home. I heard deep sighs and tears from the back. It broke my heart. When we got home I told her we could write a note to the tooth fairy and she would still leave some money.

We wrote a note and she did!! What a wonderful and understanding tooth fairy ;)

This Stage

14 months. This stage is not easy.

When we were contemplating have baby number 3, this stage was the stage I thought of with trepidation.

The destroying angel stage.

Note: This is a rant.

The stairs...Adelyn can't figure out how to go down them without help. I have tried and tried to help her learn how to do it. She just gets to the top and cries. All day.

She finds toilets utterly and completely magical. All she wants to do is play in the bathroom. Eeewww! Yesterday she flushed a little toy down. Not awesome. Thankfully we don't appear to have any problems with the plumbing. Jackson is very upset because he liked that toy, and because he was trying to use the toilet at the time.

The dog's water bowl, another mystifying thing she can't stay away from. I usually keep it off the floor, but when I notice said dog is so parched she is trying to capture every last drop of water on last night's bath toys, I think it's time to give this poor animal a drink. I attempt to do so and Addie is ready for a pool party.

Aghhh. This stage is tough.

Klennex boxes...she loves to empty them, at astonishing speed. I leave the room for 5 seconds and I come back and find this.

But, she's a doll and is so so funny. I know I always say I wish I could slow down time, the kiddos seem to grow right in front of my eyes. But I think I'd be ok if this stage didn't last.

Catching up with the Pines

We had so much fun catching up with our good friends from Logan this weekend. Markham and Matt played hockey together and Tracy and I were both pregnant with our first back then. Her and I spent many hours rink side at Eccles Ice Arena watching the boys play. We had a lot of fun chatting about our pregnancies and how much having a baby would change our lives. We had no idea, lol. It was an exciting time.

After our babies were born we struggled though breastfeeding together. One word. Hard.

She watched Kaitlyn for me a few times when I went back to work. They were there when we blessed her. They are a couple of our favorite people from those days. It's crazy how time flies. Being in the Navy has taken them all over the world. It's great to see them.
The hockey players...
...and the babies nearly 8 years later...
What cuties.

Welcome February

I'm not sad to see an end to January. It was a cold, dark and sad month.

Markham's schedule at work is much improved! Busy season is behind us!! Woot Woot!!! He is getting home much earlier now and I don't feel insane anymore. This is always good!

I have a good feeling about February.

Markham and Jackson went to see Monster Trucks with Dan and Madden so Kaity and I had some girl time with Staci and the girls. We love the Larsen's, always good times. We went ice skating and then to lunch.

It was Kaity's first time on the ice and I was super impressed! She did so well.
Cute girls. Already asking when we can go back.
At lunch they loved changing the song on the juke box and ordering shakes to go.

My little Addie Mae is a cutie for sure. New favorite thing....mini tootsie pops.
 YUM!!
 ...and her brother Jackson.
Cheers to happy days ahead.
