Set Sisters

I have to hand it to Markham, his involvement in his kids' lives is second to none. He has coached all of them in a sport and helped them individually to improve. After work bumps and serve practice at the sand volleyball court to working on goal kicks at Fremont Park he has always been up for it. I've never heard him say I'm too tired. He's gold and the kids are dang lucky.

YAY! It's summer!!

Jackson is into the guitar and practicing his chords, he's getting pretty good! He loves playing Blink 182 songs. Markham loves that, serious blast from the past.

Addie is loving the Maze Runner series, she is reading so much! 

Ranger loves all the warm snuggles.

We spent last weekend with Markham's brother and his family in Flower Mound. Grandma and Grandpa were there too!

Spring Show

Well, this was tough.

 I have watched this beautiful girl dance on stage since she was 5 years old. She wanted to go right back out on the stage after her first performance. I have really tried to enjoy all of it. Dance practices, competitions, auditions, etc. etc. While I sat and watched, perhaps her last performance, I imagined myself whispering into my younger self's ear that first time I watched her dance, "It's going to go faster than you can imagine," It's so cliche and everyone says it because it's true.

All the years came rushing back as if I was watching.a movie on fast forward. I just let the tears roll down my cheeks. It felt surreal and it killed me. Senior year is an emotional beating but this night was the hardest. I love you Kaitlyn. I feel so lucky to be your mom. The dance journey was a beautiful one. I'll be grateful for this time we had together forever. 

She absolutely shines on stage. 

So many people said to me, "My eyes go straight to your girl, she's such a beautiful dancer!" 

100% agree. 

I've loved every single minute.

Taking down the banner for the last time was tough

I thought I was going to be ok but then I wasn't and neither was Kaitlyn. 

And then we cried.

Goodness, sometimes you just can't hold the tears, nor should you. 

It was a beautiful season.
