Harvest and etc.

We have produce in our backyard!! Tomatoes, peaches, and squash!
We spent some time in Idaho with my parents. It is always nice to go home. We took the kiddos to the rodeo. Jacks had so much fun, it was pretty cute.
And for those of you who wonder how Roxy is doing.....
She has become part of our family. Markham and I joke that we have 3 kids now. She loves to cuddle and is always near. We totally love her.

Full Circle

Remember this....?
Almost 2 years ago, we got a little dachshund puppy. We named her Mocha. We had her for 10 days. (An earlier post entitled, Confessions of a Mean Wife, recounts the whole ridiculous mess.)

Markham was able to quell the doggie hungries for awhile, but it was starting to bubble over. Since I am not pregnant and nauseous this time, I was willing to revisit the issue with a few stipulations. I ran off a list of criteria that seemed impossible to match, and it took him a whole day to produce some options.
One of which was ....surprise....a 3 year dachshund.  We fell in love with her right away. She has been ours since Friday. She is a very sweet little pup and is adjusting to life very well with us.

Drum roll please........
Meet Roxy
Markham is like a kid on Christmas morning these days.

My Thoughts on Bears...

Markham's parents came for a visit on their way to Glacier National Park, where there are LOTS of bears. I asked them if they knew bears could eat them alive. They apparently like bears and even took some pictures of bears.

I know they survived the trip because they stopped on their way back home. Thank goodness. They say it was SO BEAUTIFUL there, but for me....pictures are good enough. I don't know how much I would enjoy all that beauty, wondering if a bear was going to chomp down on me.

Anyway, while they were here with us we had lots of fun. We went to Bear Lake for a day and went to the Pickleville Playhouse. We highly recommend it...very very funny.
We spent an afternoon at Antelope Island, the Great Salt Lake, which was pretty interesting. We saw lots and lots of bison, and spiders. Wasn't my favorite picnic place. I liked it better in the car. But I am not the outdoorsy type, which you already know.
We even took the kiddos bowling....and Kaity almost beat my score.
A visit from Grandma and Grandpa Carroll would not be complete without a batch of chocolate chip applesauce cookies. Kaitlyn is a super big fan, like all of us.
And Markham and I went on a kiddo-free date!!! It was perfect. We went to Red Mango.....super yum, and then to Inception. WOW....loved it!

Thanks so much for the fun times Grandma and Grandpa! We love you!!

Jackson is 1!

My Jacks is 1 year old! I can hardly believe it. His birthday was in July, and I am barely getting around to posting the pictures, that is how fast our summer is flying by....
He is such a little monkey. He LOVES to eat bananas! He would eat them all day long if I let him. He also loves to play with his sister and pull her hair, which she is not so fond of.  He is almost walking and is hard to keep up with! His eyes light up when his daddy gets home, they are special buddies. We sure love the little guy.  Happy ONE YEAR Jacks!!!
