Today's Adventures

I decided it would be fun to take Jackson out for some practice on his bike. I strapped miss Addie cake into the bike trailer,  put Jack's helmet on and we were off.
Jackson wanted to stop at the school -we had the whole playground to ourselves.
we ♥ that

 The kiddos had a BLAST.  Jackson took Addie down the slide with him about a million times. She was screaming and giggling so hard. So cute. What a sweet big brother. What a lucky girl.
 Jackson wanted to play "hide and seek" which was more like "catch me if you can" and it turned out to be quite a workout. I chased him up and down, in and out and around and around. It was golden mom moment. His infectious laugh and screams were totally contagious. I was cracking up. When I finally caught him, I tickled him until I feared he might pee his pants and then we started all over again.
It was good times.
 We got back on our bikes and were off again.

Then things kinda took a turn for the not so great.

Jackson's wheel got too close to the edge of the trail and he took a nasty spill into the weeds. He was a champ. I gave him a pep talk about how he's the boss, not the bike. He brushed himself off and got back on. He started pedaling and nothing happened- his chain had come off. awesome.

It can't be that hard to get a bike chain back on, right? I tried and tried but no luck. Good grief. Addie is crying, we are a mile from home and this is no good. What to do? Leave the bike, haul both kiddos home in the trailer? Jackson was not having that. Have Jackson walk his bike home? We tried it for about 2 minutes, Addie was melting down, crying and this was taking way too long. So I just threw Jackson in the trailer and stuck the front wheel of his bike in the back and we were off. I am sure we were an interesting sight but hey, it got the job done. Giddy up
I need a lesson on bike mechanics before we try this again. Next time I'll let Jackson ride too.

Summer is HeRE!!

summer = lazy mornings
This is how most days started when Kaity was off track and we could relax in the mornings. Little kiddos in my bed all snuggled up with me. I loved it. Now she is back in school so we are up and at it pretty early. Year round school feels so wrong.
 The kiddos had a great idea to have a water slide into the kiddie pool. Sounded good to me!
 Addie had a great time hanging out in her swing eating her pineapple pop. She joined in the fun after.
We got our little garden planted last weekend! Feels so good to see little green plants out the kitchen window. We planted several kinds of tomatoes, zucchini and squash. Our little strawberry plant is doing so well. We've already harvested a few! Our peach tree is loaded up too. I know I need to prune them, but oh, it's difficult for me. I predict some homemade ice cream and peach cobbler in a couple of months! YUM!
My latest obsession= Gelish . Oh my goodness, Where has this stuff been all my life?! Easy to do yourself polish that lasts up to 3 weeks!! Get Out!!  You do have to cure it with a led light but it stays on for so long! I love having my nails painted but regular polish would hardly last a day without chipping. This stuff I can do at home and it will outlast cleaning, gardening, sinkfuls of dishes, swimming, and my OCD hand washing! I usually take it off before it comes off because I want a change. No I am NOT a spokesperson, lol. I SHOULD be though. I love this stuff♥♥
We took the kiddos to The Lego Movie at the Kaysville Theatre last night. We love that place ♥  It was so so cute! Definitely worth seeing. What a fun night. Addie did well, she drank her weight in root beer, but hey, she was entertained, lol.
