Our trip to the Ice Castles

Our good friends the Pero's invited us to go with them to Midway to see the Ice castles.

We drove into Heber first to eat at Dairy Keen. One of our favorites.  After devouring corn dogs, french fries and cheeseburgers, we loaded back up and drove 10 minutes to Midway.
We parked and after we put our snow clothes on, we headed for the entrance.

As soon as we rounded the corner, Adelyn was beyond ecstatic to see Anna and Elsa!!
They were so adorable and chatted with the girls for a few minutes before the photo.  Addie was absolutely, totally and completely enchanted. This had to be the COOLEST thing that could have happened to her, I'm sure of it.
It was our first time at the ice castles and wow! we were impressed! They were beautiful! The ice was so awesome!!
 Good times with friends!
We have been friends with the Pero's for the last 7 years. We lived 3 doors down back in the Fremont neighborhood.

3 cuties on an ice bench ♥
 Ice slides!

 Kaity and Ethan
The Carrolls give it two thumbs up!! If you get a chance to check them out you definitely should!

A day with cousins

Lindsey and the kiddos came to play on Monday. ♥

We all had a great time. The kids played and Linds and I crafted. We went to the Wood Connection and picked out a couple projects, stopped by FIIZ for some fun drinks and chatted the day away.
The boys played the wii, the xbox, ran around in the basement, played dinosaurs, etc. etc. etc.

Princess Anna and Princess Elsa get along so well. They ran around and giggled the day away.
I popped this beauty in the oven, from the freezer and it baked for 2 hours. My favorite kind of meal! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
New Valentine's Day crafts to scatter around the house!

What a perfect day. Wish they lived closer.♥

Sledding Adventure Do-Over

Markham took the kiddos sledding at Syracuse High on Saturday. It was a perfect day.
It felt balmy compared to our first sledding attempt in Ogden Canyon
 Addie is a big fan

 Jackson and Kaitlyn
....took an early spill this time
 Looking cool!
Jacksons new sunglasses are pretty awesome. His eyes are super sensitive to bright light so it helps him out a ton.
Not sure if Kaity could see anything. lol
The kiddos had a blast. Nice recovery Dad!

Our Saturday Adventure

Markham occasionally gets the itch to get "up in the mountains." He isn't getting the ample opportunities he used to since he's no longer in scouts. Back in those days it was at least 1x a month.

Anyway, the kids wanted to go sledding, down the road at the golf course,
maybe 5 minutes away at the most. However, Markham was determined to take them "real sledding" up in the mountains.

So he gathered up all our sleds, snow gear, hats, gloves, etc. and we set out. It was a beautiful drive. He was getting his bucket filled.
After 45 minutes, we arrived at the "spot"
Here are some people that were already there.
Upon getting out of the van, we realized it was beyond cold. Bone chilling actually with a bonus wind. Yikes. But we were determined to get out there and do it at least once since we had come all this way.  As we were getting all bundled up in our snow gear....we came to the awful realization that we.... had.... forgotten..... Kaity's coat!!

UGH!

This will not work! She will die out there!

We stood there for a few seconds, processing the situation.

Markham offered his coat to her. I had to veto. This is where it ends. No one is going to freeze to death on my watch.

We packed it up and headed back down the mountain.

Epic fail? Nah. We enjoyed the drive. It was beautiful and it made Markham happy so with all things considered, it was a win.
He had packed my camera so I had fun taking pictures on the way home.

The girls both sacked out.
Kaity is behind Jackson totally unconscious. My little Jackson stayed awake until the last 10 minutes.
Markham still owes the kiddos a sledding adventure. When we got home he offered to take them to the golf course but they were cured of the desire, at least for awhile.

I'm sure he'll make it up to them. He's an awesome Dad like that.♥

2016!

We had a fun New Year's Eve.
We let the kiddos stay up until midnight. They love watching the ball drop and drinking sparkling cider. We are a family of night owls.
Having fun passing the time
 Addie didn't make it
We celebrated with the Larsen's. We ♥ them.

The first breakfast of 2016!
I made every one's favorite~ German Pancakes!! Too bad I forgot the salt. Dang it.

The kiddos were good sports about it. Nothing a little homemade whip, syrup and powdered sugar can't fix. Haha
 Silly boy
One last goodbye to Christmas 2015. It was a good one ♥
Time to get back to work
Happy 2016!!!!
