Ringing in 2015

We spent a fun News Year's Eve at home with the kiddos. After all the madness of traveling, it was so nice to be home and relax together. We told Kaity and Jackson they could stay up as late as they wanted--they are always so jealous that us parents get to "decide" when we want to go to bed. So they were so totally excited!! We were the "best parents ever!!"

We played Disney's "Eye Found it!" Very cute and refreshingly different game. Players are a team against the clock. The kiddos love it. After a couple rounds we were hungry. We picked up Papa John's and a bottle of Martinelli's and a few things for our Sweet Pork Feast on New Year's Day.
After pizza, the kiddos wanted to watch the Lego Movie. One of my favorites. Kaitlyn was out like a light around 10. Jackson held strong through the movie. Markham and I started working on homemade tortillas to go with the sweet pork. Jackson stayed awake! I asked him if he was getting sleepy and he said "I know my face might look tired but I am not tired" It cracked us both up.  He reminded me of someone who had a few too many drinks. We giggled about his delirium. At 11:50 we woke Kaity up.. .at 11:51 she was back out. We woke her up at 11:58 to watch the ball drop. Markham wanted to run around outside and bang pots and pans together. I highly discouraged it. Adelyn was not afforded the late night privilege and I didn't want our new neighbors to hate us this early on, So instead we quietly sipped sparking cider together. Markham and I kissed and the kiddos responded with an, "ewwwww!"
It was good times!!
At 12:10 - kiddos were fast asleep.
