Little Helper

Jackson is such a little cutie and is always trying to help me out.

I was getting ready to mop the kitchen floor. I was moving chairs into the living room and he quickly stepped in to help me push them. I was wiping the table off and he quickly got a wipe and proceeded to wipe the table. I gave him my washcloth and I started to sweep. He was going around the table wiping here and there. A few seconds later I see him dunking the washcloth in the dog's water bowl, and heading back to the table, ewwww!!

I said, "Jackson, no!"

He dropped the washcloth, buried his face in his hands and cried. I felt so bad, I hurt his tender little feelings and he was just trying to help.

What a cutie. Hopefully this willingness to be such a little gentleman doesn't wear off  :)

Kaity's Big Day

Today was Kaitlyn's dance rehearsal and recital. Pretty much a full day with rehearsal and pictures at noon and the big performance at 6:30.  She had a blast, she totally loves to perform.
Her class danced to "Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?" It was cute.

Happy Father's Day!

I made this cute collage for Markham for Father's Day. I thought, "Holy Cow, we have 2 kiddos!"  Life is just so fast and crazy. Jackson will be 2 next month!

There isn't anyone else I would rather raise a family with. Thanks for being so awesome babe!

Happy Father's Day!!

Nightmares

Markham and I woke to Kaitlyn frantically yelling "Mommy, Daddy!!" She said, "I had a bad dream.  Me and Daddy were watching a hockey game and a bee flew in the house!! It was HORRIBLE!!"

I didn't realize bees were so terrifying until I remembered how Markham reacts when he sees one. It is as though the little thing might snatch his soul into eternal damnation. It is quite a sight to behold.

This is clearly his fault.

A Yummy Treat

If you are lucky enough to get your hands on some fresh rhubarb, you should try this recipe! It is super yummy.

1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
3 cups sliced rhubarb
1 peeled and cubed apple (we like fuji or gala)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tbs cornstarch
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oats, butter and cinnamon. Mix together until crumbly. Press 1/3 of it into a 8 x 8 baking dish. Top with sliced rhubarb and apple.

In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla. Cook until thick and clear. Pour over apples and rhubarb. Top with remaining crumb mixture and bake at 350 for 50 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.  Enjoy!

One Year Later

Our little nephew Lincoln had a rough start to life a year ago. He was life flighted to Primary Children's Hospital a few days after he was born. It was a really hard time. Now, I can't pass up donating to PCH whenever they are fundraising. It's an incredible place.
We were excited to start June 2011 off with his 1st birthday. It was quite a party.

 All caked out!
Happy Birthday Linc! We love you!

Meanwhile...
  Jackson kept himself pretty entertained
  Playing ball with Dad.
It was fun. I'm so happy we live close enough to celebrate together!

Primary Spotlight

Kaity was spotlighted in Primary last week. Since this is the closest thing we have to a family journal I decided to post it.

Kaitlyn is the oldest of 2 children. She has a younger brother named Jackson. She is a very happy and friendly little girl. She loves to play with friends and cousins. Her favorite foods are chicken nuggets, pizza and taco soup. She also loves chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs. Her favorite color is pink. She enjoys making crafts, playing outside, swimming, helping her mom in the kitchen, and spending time at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Her favorite time of day is when her Dad gets home. She runs outside to meet him and helps him carry the mail in the house. She loves to dance and enjoys going to dance class once a week. She looks forward to performing at the recital next month. She is excited to start preschool in the fall and have her 5th birthday in October. Kaitlyn also really loves coming to Primary.

Kaitlyn loves everyone and likes to help others. She loves making new friends. She is a big help to her mom and a patient and kind big sister to Jackson. Kaity loves to sing Primary songs and always tries to do the right thing. She enjoys listening to Family Home Evening lessons and learning about Jesus.  Her family is very proud of her and loves her very much!
