Daddy Daughter Campout

Kaitlyn was super excited to go on a campout with Markham over the weekend. Since he's in scouts he spends a lot of time camping with the scouts and Kaitlyn is always so jealous. Last summer they didn't get a chance to go and little kaity pie was broken-hearted. This spring Markham picked a weekend and put it on the calendar to make sure they were able to go this year.

This girl loves her Daddy so much. It meant the world to her to spend the night in a tent in the woods with him. They had tin foil dinners and s'mores and did a little "exploring."  Fun memories were had with her favorite guy.
What a cutie

A Week in St. George

We just got home from a fun week in St. George. Markham had to work most of it but my parents, sister and her cute kiddos were there. We love St. George! Here are a few pictures...I have gotten so lazy about taking pictures. I probably said "That would be a cute picture" about 20 times. Did I capture those moments? Nope. I will do better. I got a new battery for my camera so that should help.

We of course spent lots of time at the pool. The kiddos love to swim. Since the pool is right behind the condo I put Addie down for a nap and took the kiddos down with a monitor to hear Addie. It worked like a dream.

We also clocked quite a few hours at the splash pad and lazy river by the Tabernacle. So awesome! The adults found a shady spot and chatted while the kiddos splashed away.

Adorable Addie sat with me and played with her toys
She is such a content and happy baby now. We have a lot of fun. She is my lil' chunk of love.
We played hard and got worn out.

We sat on the patio and talked.
The kiddos loved wearing their goggles in the pool and out. best $ 1.50 I have spent in a long time, lol.
 We went out to eat
We enjoyed some Nielsen's Frozen Custard
Addie was a big fan. Thx for sharing Grandma!
I gave Kaity a Gelish manicure. It is my new obsession!!! It lasts 2-3 weeks!
We zipped around in the little Jeep that lives in the garage. My parents have nicknamed it the "Jitny."
My sister, mom and I got some precious girl time! Always so much fun. We went to Paradise Bakery for lunch, had pedicures and went shopping. I found my Halloween costume at Ross!! I bet you can't guess what I am planning, lol. I took one look at it and said "bumble bee!" You know how much I love Halloween.
My cute sister taught me how to make these adorable felt bows for Addie. thx Linds!

The kiddos also played the wii, rode their bikes, played at the playground, built sand castles, munched on goodies and ran around with their cousins.

What good times!! Thanks Mom and Monte for putting up with us all week. We love ya!!

Park City

While Grandma and Grandpa Carroll were in Utah, we joined them in Park City for a few nights before they came and stayed with us. Grandma's brother Robert, his wife Helga and cousin Kendra were there too.  It was a lot of fun. We were spoiled with yummy food, fun games and pool time. Can't beat that!

Kaity's Dance Recital

Kaity did awesome as usual!! It is so fun to watch her dance.  Grandma and Grandpa were pretty impressed with the little Egyptian.

The first fruits, park city and late night randomness

It is so late now and I should be sleeping, but I find it so hard to sleep at night. No meals to make, no dishes to do, no bums to wipe, no errands to run. It is kind of nice, like a min-vacation with myself. It's awesome until the flipside when Jack's little face is staring at me wanting "breakfuss." Mornings are rough. It seems like sleep never feels as good as it does when you have to get up... But anyway.

Our little garden is growing despite my poor care! The strawberries are totally awesome! There are so many, a little shocking considering how it started- We waited too long to buy our plants last year, there was nothing left. Kaity fell in love with the last, shriveled, brown strawberry plant they had. It was clear why it was still there. It did not look good. I had no hope for it. It did nothing last summer, but out of the ground it has sprung!! Truly miraculous in my book.
Yes it is bright, sunny and hot and Jack is wearing his spider-man outfit. It's all good.

Yum!

We had a fun weekend with Markham's parents, aunt, uncle and cousin in Park City. I have one blurry out of focus picture to show for it. Not very awesome. Since I have lost my camera battery charger I have been using my phone, which is super convenient but not great quality... at all, but I am going with it for now. So that is that.

Markham's mom is so great with the kiddos. She let them "help" her make brownies. They loved it. Please note:  Kaitlyn's favorite show of late is Food Network Star.
We were spoiled with yummy food and fun times. The kids went swimming with Grandpa and blew bubbles off the deck. We played games and laughed. Jackson managed to break the light dimmer dial and then immediately after closed the door and caused the decorative piece that fits over the top of the blinds to crash to the floor. He said, "This is getting awkward." Oh my little son cracks us up. At bedtime, we left the window in their room open. Kaitlyn was concerned about a stranger climbing up. Markham said it was too high and no one could climb up. Jackson said, "What about Wreck it Ralph dad? Wreck it Ralph can climb buildings." Markham managed to reply, "That's right Jackson but he's a good guy. Go to sleep" and then we busted up outside their room.  Aah, Good times... Markham's dad took some family pics of us. I think they turned out great. I will post those soon.
I just can't have enough pictures of these cuties. They change so fast, almost before my eyes.

Cheers!

Carroll Catch-up

May zoomed by. It's crazy how fast time can slip away. We have spent several Saturdays at dance competitions for Miss Kate. It is fun to watch her dance. Her team always does well. I am a proud mom. When I see her dance my eyes get a little misty and I get a lump in my throat. Gosh she is growing up so fast. She will be in 1st grade at the end of July. Her school is starting a year round schedule. I actually think it will be nice to have smaller breaks along the way. She is a little reader - already starting simple chapter books. She loves school and learning. I am so proud of her. She is such a little sweetheart and a big help.

We have also been busy outside, digging and pulling all the weeds that had already settled into our beds and were attempting to take over. I planted a lot of things this year, mostly perennials, bought a few awesome pots and got our little garden started up again- we have quite a few strawberry plants from last year! The peach tree is fully loaded with walnut sized little peaches! Happiness. Oh how I struggle with thinning them out. I can hardly wait for Markham to make his fresh peach pie....yum.

Markham is pretty busy with scouts. He is on a day hike with the boys today in fact. Kaity had a dance practice this morning, I vacuumed the house, spent some time with the kiddos outside watering the plants and garden. The cute girls from across the street have been over playing in the backyard. There is an awesome breeze outside. It is a good day. I suppose I will make Markham one of his favorite meals from home-- chicken bundles. I am sure he will be tired after hiking 11 miles.

Adelyn is getting so big so fast, it makes my heart ache. She is such a happy and content baby now. She is rolling over and loves to play with little toys. She is enamored with Kaity and Jack. She loves watching them and when they play with her she just laughs and laughs. She is on an awesome sleep schedule -she goes down around 9:30, easily and usually sleeps soundly until 8:30-9! It is so awesome.

Meanwhile, Jackson just melts my heart. He is my little gentleman and buddy. The other day I said, "I love you handsome boy" and he replied, "I love you pretty girl" I will miss him when he starts preschool in the fall. In the car today, he pointed to the mountains and said, "Where is daddy hiking? I can't see him. Is that him mom??!" I told him it was too far away to actually see him hiking, but he was over there somewhere, He asked, "Is he wearing a white shirt mom!! I think I can see him, over there!!!" I giggled. A few minutes later I realized I was nearly out of gas and pulled into Smith's to fill up, he exclaimed, "MOM! Look at that spaceship!" It was a big boat. It made my day. What a funny little guy.

Addie with her little monkey. She snuggles it when she sleeps.

I am enjoying this...
