Homeland

The night before our 2 week vacation to Utah/Idaho, Markham "shattered" his wrist in the last period of his hockey game.

OH MY GOSH!

We spent 5 hours in the ER in Dallas getting him pain meds and a splint. After getting home we went to bed for 3 hours and then got up to head to the airport. Nothing was going to stop us. Luckily, Markham was notified that our flight was delayed which would cause us to miss our connection. We were able to get on a different non-stop flight later that evening. We were able to get some much needed rest.

Poor Markham was a champ on the plane. We landed Saturday night at 11:30. We were so exhausted and so grateful to see Lindsey at the airport. We slept great. The next morning we met up with the Booths for a hike in the mountains while the kiddos played with cousins.

Thankfully we were able to see a doctor in Bountiful Monday and were scheduled for surgery the next day! Markham now has a plate and several screws in his wrist. He is the bionic man.

We enjoyed the next couple days in Layton with the Wittwers....

We went on a really beautiful and fun hike in Farmington behind Lagoon.

Summer nights in Utah are beautiful! It actually cools down! I kinda forgot what that's like.

We scored all the yummy treats while there. Soda Crazy and Twisted Sugar. YUM

Lindsey and I took the kids on a hike above Centerville. It was a little nerve wracking for me, there were some spots that were along a steep drop off. I struggle with heights and Markham wasn't there to talk me through it. Haha. It was fine and the kids had a blast. We made it to the rope swing and then had to hurry down because it was getting dark. Good times.

Kaitlyn met up with Hadley and Natalia for a couple hours. It was fun for them to catch up.

We spent some time at the Syracuse City splash pad. It is new since we left. Super fun place.

Our next stop was Logan! We can't go back to Utah without visiting where it all started. We love going to campus and hitting up Aggie Ice Cream.
We also love staying at Dylan and Mal's house. We went on a hike, went to the Cache County Fair where we saw LeAnn Rhimes perform. It was a lot of fun!
Dinner at Old Chicago! Pizza and salad! Very good food! We had a blast.
Next stop, Grandma and Grandpa's!! Good times on the river!
Markham couldn't get in the water. It was such a bummer, We had looked forward to this trip all year. He just hung out on the dock.
The kiddos loved going on the paddleboard.
This little cutie captured our hearts all week.
Last stop on our homeland tour was St. George. How we love St. George! So many happy memories in this pool over the years. It was a lot of fun to get back.
The boys bonded over gaming.
Beautiful weather
Markham's original BFF in the family.
What a time we had!!  We are looking forward to Mexico with the same bunch in October!
