Pictures!

The other day we took the kiddos to get pictures taken. It is always stressful for me, will Kaitlyn cooperate, or scream and throw a tantrum? Did we wear the right colors? Do we coordinate? Will there be any good ones? Will this be a complete waste of time? Will Jackson be fussy and hungry? Did I bring the comb, the hairspray and change of clothes for the kids? Did I bring chapstick, and of course, diapers in 2 different sizes, (which is really neat) ,wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. etc. Right after the pictures, we were headed to the last Bee's Game of the Year with friends, which was way fun. I meant to take the camera for some pics, but it didn't make it into my bag(s).

Congrats Brian and Michelle

Markham's brother just got married in Mesa last week. When I was pregnant, I really didn't think I would feel up to going, with a newborn baby and all, but we all went and it was a lot of fun. My parents lined us up in a super nice place in Scottsdale (thanks again!!) so we made it a vacation. It was so nice to spend time with Markham's family and Kaitlyn absolutely LOVED playing with her cousins.

Here we are outside the temple, I really wanted a cute family picture, but Kaity wasn't really into it.

She was really into posing by herself though.It was a super long day and by the time we got to the reception, she was out cold. She slept here for a good hour and a half.Jackson slept all night too.The rest of the week, we played in the pool, went shopping and just relaxed. Markham and Kaity clocked a LOT of hours in the water. Jack and I relaxed poolside with a book and a diet coke ;) It was wonderful!Markham got PLENTY of exercise!!

Kaity would have spent all day every day in the water. We went through a lot of SPF!

We spent a day at a fun outdoor mall. Kaitlyn had a lot of fun playing in the water at a splash pad there. Again, I just relaxed with Jackson.

Taking a break

We spent a day at a waterpark in Mesa, so so fun!!! Here Kaity is sliding down a little slide by herself. She preferred going down the huge slides with Markham. I was way impressed. She was so brave! Those same slides made me scream all the way down!

Here are the California cousins!!! Mason, Aaron, and Derek. Kaity had so so much fun with them. She was saying, "I want my cousins" all week.

We love you guys!! See you again in October!!

Big Sister

Kaitlyn is such a great big sister. She is very proud and very protective of her "little brother."

Some cute things she has said:

"Momma, Baby Jackson is a cutie"

"He's tiny Momma"

When he cries: "Baby is angry" or "Baby is hungry" or my favorite "Oh little guy, calm down, calm down."

Today at the doctor's office, "Where did they take my baby brother?"

Nine Days Later....

Well Jackson is 9 days old and is such a good little baby. He nurses like a champ, is gaining weight well, hardly ever makes a peep, and sleeps like an angel (even at night.) If they were all like him I would have 5 more. When he gets hungry he starts sucking his thumb to send me a clue. Like I said, he doesn't ever get too upset. He is a very patient and good-natured boy, he gets that from his dad.

He is content to just relax anywhere I put him, he gets that from me.

Kaitlyn used to pull this same exact face! She looked a lot like him when she was a baby.

Markham and Jackson catch a nap together whenever they get a chance.

Kaitlyn has been taking it all very well. She is an awesome big sister and helper. She always wants to hold and kiss him. The first thing she asks in the morning is "where is baby Jackson?"

....Life is pretty awesome.
