First snow at the new house

We love our new house a lot. We especially love having more space. The garage has been a dream. I don't have to store the stroller in the back of the van anymore!!

This night, was the first time, we thought that having a bigger driveway does have its drawbacks. Markham shoveled it and by the next morning it was buried again. He had to leave for work early so I told him I would tackle it. Ha. What a mistake that was. Talk about back breaking labor! We need a snow blower, stat!!

At least I had company while I shoveled. After about 15 minutes, I really wanted to join Jackson. It looked really comfortable. But I wasn't even half done yet. I had just cleared the stairs and sidewalk. I moved onto the driveway. After another 30 minutes or so it still wasn't done but I was. A little snow on the driveway is not going to bother me.

Maybe I need to think about strapping a contraption to Roxy and having her plow it. The Grinch did something like that didn't he?!
Ahhh- A girl can dream.

California Christmas

We loaded up the van with all the presents, boxes and bags, suitcases, pillows and blankets, snacks, 3 sleepy children and the dog. We left at 5am on the 20th and headed to California to spend time with Markham's family. Everyone was there so it was a full house with a lot going on! It was good times and never a dull moment. We played games, ate yummy food, visited with family and friends and even went caroling.

On Christmas Eve we enjoyed a yummy dinner and games with family. Grandpa read the Christmas Story from the Bible and then we watched a video on lds.org about Christ. It had a wonderful message about following the example He gave us- to be patient, loving and kind- not just during December but all year long. I hope the real reason we celebrate Christmas is soaking into the kiddos little hearts.

Christmas morning was magical with the 3 kiddos. They were so excited to see what Santa left them. It was so fun.

The adults had a lot of fun too. The boys in their team wear. Yikes.

A few of my favorite gifts -my KitchenAid Mixer ♥, a fancy beverage dispenser and new knives, which I have already cut myself with. ouch. They are way sharp.

Kaity's favs- new bedspread and a bunch of doll clothes for her American Girl doll

Jackson -a TV to play the wii in his room and his Skylanders game

Markham- A super awesome Underarmour jacket and new tool chest for the garage

We had a lot of fun and drove home safely. Thank goodness!

We are now adjusting back to the severe drop in temperature!!

Company Christmas Party

We had a ball at Markham's company Christmas party last week. It was fun for the whole family. The kiddos admired this gingerbread house for a long time. Addie kept trying to walk inside.

Next stop, Santa and Mrs. Claus

This moment was sweet, it reminded me of my Grandma. It broke my heart that the kiddos won't be able to visit her anymore. This is our first Christmas without her.

Next stop, the Ballroom for a super fancy and yummy dinner!

The kiddos were beyond excited for the chocolate fountain. I was too.

Presents from Santa!! Addie messed up my camera settings during dinner.

Goodness, What I let her get away with for a few moments of peace.

Yikes

I love Black Friday but I hate the masses. A couple of years ago I feared for my life at a walmart dvd display, that was my first mistake. So I decided, no more risky shopping trips that could turn fatal for me. My life is worth more than a season of the Vampire Diaries. Anyway I digress. So this year, I shopped from the comfort of the couch. There were some crazy amazing deals online that I snapped up. I know this pile is kinda gross and Markham is a little stressed, but hey I'm almost done with all my Christmas shopping!! woot woot!!
