We have been battling a series of nasty viruses at our house. We all got violently ill over Labor Day weekend, it was SO gross. Poor Kaity threw up in the car on the way home from Idaho, ewww. That kind of gross.
On top of that, I've had a nasty upper respiratory infection for the last 2 weeks, which I was confident was strep throat. The killer headache, feeling like you are swallowing chards of glass, throat looking funky and gross, you know, fun stuff. I was hoping to get a scrip for some killer antibiotics and be on my merry way.
No such luck. It's viral, code word for -you just wasted your time and money going to the Dr. This nasty virus has successfully defeated Jackson's immune system as well. He has been running super high temps and been totally miserable. Fortunately Kaity and Markham are triumphant in remaining healthy, for which I am grateful.
Anyway, now the switch from the poor me rant to my comic relief....
Our ward has been preparing for the primary program. Kaity is totally pumped to have a speaking part, it's only 12 words, but still. The girl has nerves of steel. She has been roaming around the house singing the songs the last couple of weeks. "I Love to See the Temple" has been on repeat today.
Hearing her sing the last part makes me giggle every time. Instead of singing,
"I'll prepare myself while I am young
This is my sacred duty"
Kaity's Rendition
I'll repair myself on Brigham Young
You see, my favorite beauty.
Oh it's so cute. She nails the tune, just is a little off on the words. It makes me smile. I don't have the heart to correct her. She's not singing a solo or anything, right?! lol

My School Girl
Miss Kaitlyn is attending preschool 3x a week this year. She is so excited to finally go to school. Her little BFF across the street is in kindergarten this year, but since Kaity's bday is in October, she has to wait until next year.
Preschool is perfect. It eases me and her into getting out the door before 9am. We are NOT morning gals!
We live too close to the elementary to get a bus, so I will have many years driving miss Kaity to school and back. Car pool is a life saver!
This is the outfit she wanted to wear her first day. I let her decide what she will wear most days. She has a pretty cute style. They grow up so fast!
Kodak Moment
Jackson has graduated to a big boy bed! It surprised me how easy this transistion was. No drama. The little guy just stayed in bed and slept all night. However, there have been a couple of nights where he has rolled out, which is tough. Hearing a little voice yell, "I fell mommy, I fell!" mingled with heavy sobs totally broke my heart.
When I check on him before we go to bed I usually see something like this. He has been crossing his feet like that since the womb! His first ultrasound looks like this.

The other night when I went to check on him, I found him fast asleep in Kaity's room.
He adores Kaitlyn and is totally lost without her. They are pretty cute together. Sometimes there is drama, but seeing them like this makes me smile.

Last Rites of Summer
Labor Day weekend is the last time we get to play on the river. It was really fun this year on the boat. The kiddos were scared a couple of months ago and cried even at idle speed, but this time they were lining up to get out on the tube! Fun times!
