Oak Alley Tour

On our way home, we visited the Oak Alley Plantation for a sobering history lesson. It was a surreal mix of unbelief and sadness. It's a beautiful property, yet knowing what took place there made us feel sick and heavy. It's hard to imagine people were literally enslaved there. Thinking about families who were separated to work at different plantations made me so sad. Can't imagine being separated from my children.

Jackson said he felt weird smiling because he said it felt disrespectful to the people who were enslaved
there. If everyone had Jackson's heart the world would be a better place. He feels things hard.

Kaitlyn was upset too. Life is so cruel for some people.

Baton Rouge!

First stop! Parrains for some authentic creole food at a place that gave us Disney vibes. haha
It was so yummy!

Cheers!
After dinner, we saw Wonka! Absolutely loved it!
Next morning, we checked out the LSU campus.
We loved watching Mike.

Checking out the Honor's college. It's a beautiful campus!

The most beautiful sorority house I've yet to see.
On the way to New Orleans we stopped for an adeventure on an Air Boat!

We didn't see too many gators because in the winter months they brumate in the mud along the bottom of the swamp to conserve energy and heat.
We saw a couple basking in the sun.

Good times with my fav peeps!
