Jackson's 9th Birthday

Happy Birthday Jackson! 

I cant' believe Jackson in 9. Man oh man time just flies by.

 He is my favorite son and I enjoy him so much. He is kind and thoughtful and funny and creative. He loves playing minecraft with Addie and anything to do with Dinosaurs. He is a great reader and is currently reading a series called "Wings of Fire" about dragons. Loving it! He is smart as a whip and does great in school. He can add faster than me. lol 

I love you Jackson! I'm so lucky to be your Mom. 

We had such a fun time with Grandma and Grandpa Carroll, Uncle Brian, Aunt Michelle and Audrey.

He was excited to get Quixx, a dice game.

Markham smoked some brisket and it was super yummy.

Week Wrap

Lots of cuddle time with the pup

 Mermaid Hair!!

Kaitlyn has been wanting me to Kool-Aid dye her hair for a couple weeks. 

She watched you tube videos, collected Pinterest pictures of the colors she liked, and took meticulous notes on the steps to success. 

After all that work I felt I couldn't deny her. It's her hair after all. 

I made sure she was ok with cutting it off if she needed to for school. 

 She loves it!

 I joined a moms group and met a few of them for lunch and custard at Freddy's. It was fun and really yummy. It was a little bittersweet though. I miss my Utah girls a ton.

I was organizing my recipes with Kaitlyn and we ran across this. 

It made me tear up. I miss my sis. 

This week was a mixed bag. 

Kaitlyn is enjoying dance at her new studio, we have the house put together and we are settled in. It's been a good move but there are still tough moments. We miss family and friends, we miss the familiarity of it all. We miss the mountains and camping. 

It has sunk in. We are far away.

The Silos

My dear friend Erin came to Dallas for a weekend visit. 

She is such a blast and I miss her like crazy.

 We decided to go to Waco and check out Magnolia Farms since we're both Chip and Joanna fans. It was fun to catch up and laugh and giggle and be silly care free girls again.

We chatted and had a yummy lunch and explored piles of overpriced beautiful things. It was a fun day and it went by too fast.  

Thanks Erin for making the trip! It brightened up my world!
