We were excited to hike up to the Timp Cave and explore it. Markham got our tickets months ago, along with our reservation to camp at the Timpooneke campground.
Truth to be told. I was freaked
I generally don't get too excited about tight, dark and cold places or heights so I was nervous. Claustrophobia and anxiety in general don't help.
BUT it was just fine and we all had a really great time.
Yikes. Noted.
Just getting started.
It was a steep hike so we took plenty of breaks to stretch and catch our breath.
Such a beautiful place. The weather was perfect.
Adelyn did so well.
When she got too tired Markham carried her.
This was sweet to watch...
whispering in Daddy's ear ♥
Almost there!
At the top we had our lunch before the hour and a half tour through the cave
It was fascinating in there!
I felt like we were under the ocean.
So much coral and cool stuff to look at all around.
This is "The Heart of Timpanogos."
So COOL!
So COOL!
We give the tour 2 thumbs up! So worth it!
On our way down we gave lots of people encouragement on their way up.
On our way down we gave lots of people encouragement on their way up.
It took us almost 4 hours to hike up, do the tour and hike back down.
We took our time and took lots of breaks.
We were surprised coming down was so hard. It was pretty steep.
It was COLD in there! 43 degrees cold!
The ranger told us it would feel like a Costco Fridge, she was right.
Kaitlyn would pack a warmer jacket next time.
We were also grateful for our Camelbaks. We all drank a ton of water.
The kids worked on their Jr Ranger Books afterwards.
Getting their badges!
FUN DAY
And that's a wrap!
